Seed Drill

Jethro Tull was one of the first scientific farmers to practice the use of enclosures. As he examined the way people planted their seeds he realized that scattering the seeds across the ground was wasteful and he decided to invent a machine known as the  seed drill.  The seed drill is a sowing device that precisely positions seeds in the soil and then covers them.  This helped farmers tremendously and it saved on time and money.  The seed drill is just one of the many great inventions during this time period.  It is still used today and still helps farmers just as much as it did during the industrial revolution.
